We at Merck Foundation marks ‘World Cancer Day 2021’ through our Cancer Access Program to build capacity with the aim to increase the limited number of oncologists hence improve patients’ access to quality & equitable cancer care in Africa. We provided scholarships to train more than 70 doctors from 24 countries to become the first oncologists in their countries. We have scaled up & strengthened our efforts and activities in more countries because we are committed to cancer care landscape transformation in the continent. Together we can fight Cancer Every Day and lead Africa to a Better Future.
We are training Oncologists from Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, DRC, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia
