Firstly,\u00a0Happy International Women\u2019s Day<\/strong>\u00a0to all the women in the world and to the men who support and empower them.\u00a0It is a great honor to receive\u00a0The Global She Achievers Award 2024,<\/strong>\u00a0that too on the very important occasion of International Women\u2019s Day. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the\u00a0Business Executive Team<\/strong>\u00a0for acknowledging our efforts since past 12 years to empower\u00a0women in STEM, support girl education and transforming public healthcare in Africa and beyond at their\u00a0Global<\/strong>\u00a0She Achievers Awards 2024<\/strong>\u00a0for our efforts to\u00a0empower women in STEM<\/strong>,\u00a0and girls in girls in education, and building healthcare capacity in Africa and beyond.<\/strong>\u00a0The awards ceremony took place recently in\u00a0Dubai, UAE.<\/strong><\/p>

We at Merck Foundation, together with First Ladies of Africa<\/strong>, are marking Women\u2019s Day through our “More Than a Mother” campaign<\/strong>, which is a strong and unique movement that aims to empower women living with infertility stigma through access to information, education, change of mindset, and economic empowerment.<\/p>

Together with Africa\u2019s First Ladies<\/strong>, Merck Foundation has contributed to the future of 425 of girls<\/strong> by providing scholarships to continue their education and also providing essential school items for thousands of schoolgirls through our \u201cEducating Linda\u201d <\/strong>program in many African countries such as Burundi, Malawi, Ghana, The Gambia, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Niger and more.<\/strong><\/em> Moreover, Merck Foundation has also benefitted 1000\u2019s of girls<\/strong> through their awareness campaigns which includes releasing many inspiring children\u2019s storybooks, animation films and songs <\/strong><\/em>to support girl education and end child marriage.<\/p>

It gives me immense pleasure to witness that, together with Africa\u2019s First Ladies, Ministries of Health, Gender, Education and Communication,<\/strong><\/em> we are impacting the lives of people in the most disadvantaged communities in Africa and beyond, in partnership, and this award will only motivate me to do more and more.<\/p>
